Are you lost, little girl? (or Whaaaat? – Part 1)

Once upon a time, circa 1991, I drew this map as part of a class project to create an “About Me” poster:

(I say circa 1991 because I found this in a box of old school projects that my mom wanted out of her attic, and it was after the Kindergarten stuff but on top of the Grade 6 stuff, so I can only guess / hope that it’s from Grade 1.)

Google Maps offers another perspective on “a map of how to get from my house to my school:”

What is the lesson? Well, it’s a good thing I had a driver for the first several years of my life, because I would have been lost otherwise.

But this is also a kind of awesome early example of Telephone Pictionary (see next post). What information is absolutely necessary for the trip? A starting point (“home”) and an end point (“school”). Guess that’s why I got an A+ on that “About Me” poster assignment.

Haha cute! I think your original map still works…if not quite to scale!
