My good friend (and consistent commenter!) AY recently forwarded the following life tips:
Re-use a wet-wipes container to store plastic bags. (Although in high school, my roommate and I used toddler-sized footy pajamas instead and called it Bag Baby. What can I say? We thought outside the box.)
Speaking of boxes, you can make a cupcake carrier by cutting crosses into a box lid.
Store shoes inside shower caps to stop dirty soles rubbing on your clothes.
Magnets hold the plastic cups down to make them tip-resistant.
Bread tags turn into cord labels.
Create a window-box veggie patch using guttering.
Use egg cartons to separate and store your Christmas decorations.
And while we’re on the topic, I’d like to recommend a visit to the IDEA store in Champaign. It’s basically an arts and crafts co-op that sells assorted stuff by weight (including things from egg cartons and construction paper to sheet metal and packing peanuts, depending on donations).
Stay tuned for the next post, wherein trash turns to (some definition of) treasures!
