NYC 2012

I had a great time at the Association of American Geographers conference in New York City. There were about 8,500 people at the conference, but I was the only one in a Santa hat, which landed me two job offers and more high fives than I can count. Who says geography isn’t fun?!

While I was there, I met lots of cool researchers, including Denis Wood! (Follow the link for… well, the justification for my dissertation!)

It was great! It seemed like cookies went over well with the audience (and fit the theme of my presentation, which was Canadian sovereignty and the North Pole).

Hey, what I want to know is what you said about Canadian sovereignty and the North Pole.

      Details forthcoming! :-)

(A professor suggested that I not post too many of my as-yet-unpublished academic ideas on my public blog because, and this is a direct quote, “randoms could jack your sh*t.” That seemed like good advice, so I’m keeping it under my [Santa] hat for the moment, but I will let you know as soon as it is published!)
