I’m always afraid of sending my mail any way other than First Class Post because what if it gets stuck in steerage when the ship hits an ice berg? Or has to sit in the middle of a row of screaming babies while the other letters enjoy free drinks and in-flight movies in a reclining chair?
Aren’t we were supposed to be living in a meritocracy with equal rights for all letters and races and creeds and genders and levels of ability?
No, wait, justice and equality aren’t the same thing.
Justice is when everybody gets a peanut butter and jelly sandwich except the kid who is allergic to peanuts, who gets a different kind of sandwich (but still gets a sandwich). (As explained very nicely by someone on Reddit – can’t find the original post because Lazy.)
Equality is the thing you have to buy with money, like postage due.
