This is a variation on an oft-repeated theme. Long-time readers / viewers may recall the “Three Mile Limit” that was exploited during Prohibition in the United States. These cartoons show the long-standing debates between the U.S. and Canada over boundaries, fisheries, fishing rights, and sovereignty in territorial waters (with the boundary fixed at 12 or 3 miles from the coast, or some other arbitrary designation?).
PS The shorter the posts and updates, the more progress is being made on the dissertation. At least that’s the idea!
